Frequently asked questions
What is Ceebs?
Ceebs is a Monash-only platform where students can post and complete small tasks like food deliveries while on campus. Instead of relying on external services, students help each other while earning money or saving time.
How does Ceebs work?
Post a task (e.g., food delivery) and set a reward.
A student runner accepts the task and completes it.
Payment is handled securely through our credit system, ensuring a smooth transaction.
Who can use Ceebs?
Ceebs is exclusively for Monash students. Every user must verify their Monash email to ensure a student-only network.
Why does Ceebs use a credit system instead of direct payments?
The credit system makes transactions faster, simpler, and more flexible, while also encouraging users to both post tasks and complete tasks.
Encourages Circular Use: Users who complete tasks can use the credits they earn to post their own tasks.
Simplified Transactions: No need to enter payment details for every task.
Lower Processing Fees: Direct payments would mean high transaction fees for small orders.
Promotional Benefits: The referral system and rewards are easier to manage with credits.
How do credits work?
Posting a task costs 5 credits.
Runners earn 4 credits per completed task.
Ceebs takes a 1-credit cut to keep the platform running.
1 credit = $1.
Buying credits has a 30-cent processing fee per transaction to cover Stripe fees.
How are payments processed?
All payments are securely handled through Stripe, a trusted payment provider.
Ceebs never stores or has access to any of your financial details.
Stripe ensures secure transactions with full encryption.
What happens if my order is stolen or undelivered?
We take theft and undelivered tasks very seriously, and we have strict measures in place to protect taskers.
If a runner fails to complete your delivery:
Report the issue immediately through the Ceebs system.
We will investigate using chat logs, evidence, and testimonials from both sides.
If a runner is proven to have stolen an order:
They will be permanently banned from Ceebs for violating our TOS and committing theft on Monash campus.
Since Ceebs accounts are linked to Monash emails, we will ensure they can never rejoin the platform.
Ceebs will report the thief with their name directly to Monash University, demanding compensation or disciplinary action from the school.
Refund Policy:
Ceebs will refund the delivery fee to the tasker if the order is stolen.
We will NOT refund food costs since the payment is made directly through the restaurant's app.
We encourage every tasker to use the chat system to communicate with the runner and log any issues as soon as they happen. If something goes wrong, provide as much detail as possible in your report so we can make the best decision for you.
How does Ceebs handle reports, bans, and suspensions?
Ceebs operates on a strict and fair moderation system to keep the community safe and trusted.
Reports are reviewed based on:
Chat logs between the tasker and runner.
Testimonies from both sides.
Any additional evidence, such as screenshots or order confirmations.
If an issue is confirmed, the following actions will be taken:
First offense: Warning
Second offense: Suspension for a set period
Third offense or serious misconduct: Permanent ban
If a runner is caught stealing or intentionally scamming, they will be permanently banned and reported to Monash University.
To protect yourself, always use the chat to communicate with your runner, report issues immediately, and provide as much detail as possible in your report.
How does the referral system work?
Every user has a unique referral code that they can share with friends. When someone joins Ceebs and enters your referral code, you earn 2 credits for each verified user.
If you're using a referral code, you'll get $2 off your first 3 orders after entering it.
Full instructions on how to refer friends or redeem a code can be found in the
⛓️ referral-system channel in the server.
